Burhanpur sits on the Tapti in the Nimar belt, tucked against the Maharashtra border and a long way from the state capital. For pricing purposes that geography is irrelevant — DTDC treats all of Madhya Pradesh as Z4 on the DNG product, so the card below is the state’s, not the town’s.

What makes this lane different from most of our northern routes is how close the two tiers run. Standard takes 4–5 days; road freight takes 6–7. Choosing the cheaper column costs you about two days here, where on our Bihar lanes the same choice costs five. That narrow gap moves road from a last resort to the default for almost anything that is not urgent.

The arithmetic backs it up above the floor. Road bills from three kilograms minimum, so a 1 kg parcel is ₹484 that way against ₹415 on Standard — dearer as well as slower, and not worth booking. From three kilos the comparison flips to ₹484 against ₹830, at five kilos to ₹807 against ₹1,383, and at ten to ₹1,614 against ₹2,593. If your parcel is heavier than three kilos and nobody is standing by the door, the road column is very hard to argue against on this route.

Premium is the reverse case. It shortens the window to four days — the optimistic end of Standard’s own range — and asks ₹813 for a kilogram instead of ₹415. We will book it if you want the firmer commitment, but we will not pretend it buys much time on this lane.

Documents carry both columns here, and the cheaper one is the point. Standard paper is ₹242 up to 500 g, ₹415 up to a kilogram and ₹1,106 at three; Premium covers the same envelopes at ₹496, ₹813 and ₹2,080. With Standard already quoting a 4–5 day window, very little Nimar paperwork has a reason to sit on the dearer column.
