Upper Assam is the far corner of the network. Dibrugarh is quoted on Assam's Z5 card, service DNG — the outermost band, so the first kilogram costs ₹553 rather than the ₹415 a central-Indian address would pay. Air still lands in 3–4 days. Road is a 9–10 day haul and should be treated as freight, not post.
These are DTDC's published rates for Assam. Dibrugarh takes the state's Z5 card, and the figures below are transcribed from it without adjustment.

These are the DTDC rates for Assam (zone Z5) — the same card applies across the state. Billed weight is the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ 5000). Surface and heavier air slabs carry a 3 kg minimum. Full rate card and how billing works →
Distance is priced into this lane and there is no arguing with it. Assam sits in Z5, DTDC’s furthest band, on the DNG service, so a kilogram by air is ₹553 where a Gujarat or UP address would be ₹415. What you get for it is better than the map suggests: 3–4 days to a town roughly 3,000 km from our counter.
The interesting number on this route is the express one. Standard rises with the zone, but the express column does not — ₹813 for a kilogram here is what it costs on far shorter lanes. That squeezes the gap between the two products to ₹260 at one kilogram, against roughly ₹400 on a nearer destination. If a single day matters to you, this is one of the cheaper places to buy it, and the express card cuts transit to 3 days.
Weight changes that verdict quickly. At five kilograms express is ₹3,449 against ₹1,843 on Standard — the upgrade that made sense for a packet is hard to defend for a carton.
Road takes 9–10 days. Its floor is ₹674 up to three kilos, above the air rate for a single kilo, so small and slow is the wrong combination here. From five kilos it works — ₹1,123 against ₹1,843 — and a 50 kg consignment is ₹11,234 by road where air is ₹16,997. A week and a half in transit is what that costs, which suits supplies and household moves and little else.
Pack for the distance. We would rather re-box something at the counter than have you chase a claim ten days later.
The town's pincodes run through 786001 to 786010 and all of them price identically, since the rate is Assam's rather than Dibrugarh's. Remote garden addresses can run behind the town figure.

Same Assam card, allow extra time
Three to four days on the air product and three on the express one. Road is nine to ten days.
Assam is in Z5, the outermost band on the DTDC card. Distance is built into the slab and applies to every address in the state.
For small packets, more often than elsewhere — ₹813 against ₹553 at a kilogram. For anything around five kilos it nearly doubles the bill, and then it usually is not.
From five kilograms upward. Below three kilos its ₹674 minimum exceeds the air rate while adding almost a week.
Yes, on the same Assam card. Estates away from the town can take longer than the published figure, so give us the exact pincode.
On volumetric weight when that exceeds the actual weight — length × width × height in centimetres, divided by 5000.
Standard goes to the 50 kg slab at ₹16,997. The express column stops at 25 kg, so beyond that it is Standard or road.
Give us the weight and we will tell you whether the express column is worth its money on your parcel. It depends entirely on how heavy it is.
