Jabalpur is quoted from the Madhya Pradesh card, zone Z4, service DNG. A kilo is ₹415 and the published standard window is 4–5 days — slower than the state cards on either side of it, which is exactly why road freight is a better bargain here than it looks elsewhere.

Jabalpur has no separate row of its own — it is priced on the state card DTDC issues for Madhya Pradesh. Bhopal, Indore, Katni and Satna work off exactly these numbers, tax included.

These are the DTDC rates for Madhya Pradesh (zone Z4) — the same card applies across the state. Billed weight is the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ 5000). Surface and heavier air slabs carry a 3 kg minimum. Full rate card and how billing works →

Two things shape this route. It is a Z4 lane on the DNG service, and Madhya Pradesh is priced as a single state block rather than city by city, so a Jabalpur address costs precisely what a Bhopal or Satna one does.

The second is transit. Standard is booked at 4–5 days, which is slow for an air product and slower than the neighbouring state cards. That matters when you weigh up the road option, because surface runs 6–7 days — only about two days behind standard, where on many lanes the same choice costs you the best part of a week.

So the arithmetic is unusually kind to road freight here. Surface bills a minimum of three kilos at ₹484, which makes a single kilo dearer by road than the ₹415 standard fare — never book it that light. From three kilos the picture reverses hard: ₹484 against ₹830, then ₹807 against ₹1,383 at five kilos and ₹1,614 against ₹2,593 at ten. At 50 kg the sheet reads ₹8,072 by road and ₹12,962 by air. Two days for roughly a third off is the best trade on this page.

Premium costs ₹813 for the first kilo and commits to 4 days, against a standard window that already reaches into the fourth. It is close to twice the money for a day at most, and we would rather you spent it only when a delivery has a contractual date. Note too that premium stops at the 25 kg slab on this card — there is no 50 kg premium figure to quote.

Paper has its own pair of columns and they are far apart: ₹242 for 500 g on the standard document service, ₹496 on premium. At ₹242 a light file undercuts every parcel row on the card, so paperwork belongs on a document docket unless the date is contractual.

What customers ask about this route

How long does a parcel take to reach Jabalpur?

Four to five days on the standard service, four on premium, six to seven if it goes by road.

What does the first kilo cost?

₹415 standard, ₹813 premium, ₹484 by surface. All three figures already include 18% GST.

Is road freight worth it on this route?

From three kilos upward, yes — more so than on most lanes. Surface adds only about two days here and takes roughly a third off the fare.

Why does 1 kg cost more by road than by air?

Surface starts billing at three kilos. One kilo is charged as three, which puts it above the ₹415 air rate.

Do you have a 50 kg premium rate?

No. Premium on this card ends at 25 kg. Heavy consignments go standard at ₹12,962 for 50 kg or surface at ₹8,072.

Does the same rate cover Katni, Satna and Bhopal?

Yes — Madhya Pradesh is priced as one block on our card, so those addresses read off the same table.

How is a bulky but light box charged?

On volumetric weight when that exceeds the scale: length × width × height in cm, divided by 5000.
