Documents for work and residency
Degree certificates, attested experience letters, medical reports and paperwork tied to an Iqama or a job offer. These are the deadline-driven shipments on this route and the ones we book the same day we collect.
Parcels and documents to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and the wider Kingdom, booked at our HSR Layout counter on a DTDC air waybill. Saudi Arabia has one requirement that no other destination we handle insists on quite so firmly — the recipient's ID number — and getting it before the parcel leaves Bengaluru saves the most common delay on this route.
The thing to know before anything else: Saudi customs clearance is tied to the person receiving the parcel. Clearance is processed against the consignee’s national ID number, or their Iqama number if they are a resident foreign national, and the courier will ask for it along with a Saudi mobile number. A parcel booked without it will sit in customs while somebody tries to reach the recipient. Get the number from them before you come to the counter and this route becomes straightforward.
On charges, Saudi Arabia applies the Gulf common external tariff, generally 5% on most consumer goods, with a low-value exemption long set at SAR 1,000 below which personal consignments are not assessed for duty. VAT at 15% — the highest in the Gulf — applies on top and is collected from the recipient. Thresholds are set by Saudi Customs and can be revised, so treat these as the current position rather than a guarantee.
The prohibitions matter more here than the arithmetic. Alcohol in any form and anything containing pork are absolutely banned. Non-Islamic religious articles and literature are restricted, and while a personal item may pass, quantities that look like distribution will not. Images and printed material are screened against Saudi decency rules. Medicines beyond ordinary personal quantity attract Saudi Food and Drug Authority attention, and herbal preparations are treated as medicines rather than as food.
Addressing. Saudi Arabia uses a national address format built around a building number, street, district, city, a five-digit postal code and a four-digit extension, and many residents also hold a short address code. Send whatever the recipient actually uses, but never send a Saudi address without a working mobile number — the delivery call is how the last kilometre is completed here.
Everyday personal goods travel without trouble. The banned categories are religious, dietary and pharmaceutical, and none of them bend.
If your box contains anything religious, medicinal or printed, mention it when you book. These are the three categories where a quiet word at the counter prevents a long conversation at Jeddah.

Clothes, sealed snacks, spices, coffee and small household items to relatives working in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and the industrial cities. Straightforward provided the ID number is supplied and the contents avoid the restricted list.
Clothing and personal items sent to family travelling for pilgrimage. Timing is everything here, and so is the address — a hotel address needs the booking name and a reachable mobile, since customs clearance is still tied to a named individual.
Product samples and components to Saudi buyers. Above the low-value exemption these are assessed on the declared value, so an accurate commercial invoice with a real description does the work.
We do not hold an international rate card and we do not publish international prices. Every consignment is priced individually once we know the destination city, the weight and dimensions, and what is inside. You get a firm figure before we collect — never an estimate that moves later.
DTDC. We are an authorised DTDC booking partner in HSR Layout and the shipment travels on a genuine DTDC air waybill through DTDC's overseas network.
Because Saudi customs clears the parcel against the consignee's identity. Without the national ID or Iqama number, and a Saudi mobile, the consignment waits in customs until somebody supplies it. Asking you for it at the counter is us preventing that delay.
VAT at 15% is assessed on imports and collected from the recipient. Duty of around 5% applies above the low-value exemption, long set at SAR 1,000 for personal consignments. Whatever customs charges is billed to the person receiving the parcel.
No. They are liquids and we do not book liquids to any destination. This holds regardless of packaging.
Sealed, dry, factory-packed vegetarian sweets with a printed label, yes. No dairy-based mithai, nothing homemade, and nothing containing any animal fat.
We do not publish a transit time. At booking you are told the commitment the shipment is actually given and handed the air waybill number to track it.
A single personal religious article travels more often than not, but Saudi Arabia restricts non-Islamic religious material and anything in quantity will be refused. Tell us if the box contains any, so nobody is surprised.
Bring us the city, the weight, the contents and the recipient's ID number. Free collection anywhere in Bengaluru and a firm quote before anything moves.
