For a town in the far west of Punjab, 2–3 days on Standard is a good number. The DNB service carries it, and the same figure holds for Amritsar and Patiala, because Bathinda is priced from the state band rather than a sheet of its own.
Being on the state band has one visible cost. From three kilograms upward the Punjab card runs slightly above the city rows used by Ludhiana or Jalandhar — ₹830 at 3 kg and ₹1,383 at 5 kg. Documents escape that penalty. The economy document column opens at ₹242 for 500 g and reaches ₹1,106 at three kilos, with the express product covering the same weights from ₹496. A light envelope on a soft deadline costs ₹242 there — well under the ₹415 a 1 kg parcel booking would run to — so we will put it on the economy column rather than upsell the express rate.
On tiers, the honest summary is short. Premium buys one day — two instead of two-to-three — for ₹813 at the first kilo, which is worth it only when a firm date matters more than the money.
