The air tier does well by Begusarai. Two to three days on Standard for a town 2,100 km away is quicker than a good deal of central India manages on the same card, and Premium tightens it to two days for ₹813 at the first kilogram against ₹415.
The road tier is the opposite. At 7–8 days it is the slowest surface figure on this side of the card, so choosing it surrenders about five days rather than the two or three that road usually costs. That changes the arithmetic of when it is worth it. Under three kilos there is no argument at all — surface bills from a 3 kg floor of ₹484, above the ₹415 that Standard charges to fly one kilogram. You would pay more and wait a week.
Where road does pay is heavy and unhurried. Fifteen kilos costs ₹2,421 by road against ₹3,889 in the air, twenty-five kilos ₹4,036 against ₹6,481, and a full 50 kg consignment ₹8,072 against ₹12,962. Those are real savings — ₹4,890 on the largest slab — provided nobody at the far end is waiting on the goods.
Documents get two columns of their own on the Bihar band. The ordinary one opens at ₹242 for 500 g and reaches ₹415 at a kilogram; the express one asks ₹496 and ₹813 for the same envelopes. Since Standard already flies in two to three days, the ₹242 row handles most paperwork, and the express column earns its premium only when a filing date is fixed.
