Bhiwandi is the closest destination we quote on the Z4 card and it costs exactly what Bihar costs — a zone is a band on a rate chart, not a measure of kilometres. It runs on the Maharashtra card, service DNB: 3–4 days by air, 5–6 by road, which is the tightest gap between tiers on this card.
DTDC's published rates for Maharashtra, reproduced as they stand. Bhiwandi has no entry of its own, so this state card is what governs the booking.

These are the DTDC rates for Maharashtra (zone Z4) — the same card applies across the state. Billed weight is the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ 5000). Surface and heavier air slabs carry a 3 kg minimum. Full rate card and how billing works →
The first thing to understand about this lane is that the price has nothing to do with the distance. Bhiwandi is under a thousand kilometres from Bangalore and sits in zone Z4 on DTDC’s Maharashtra card, the same zone as destinations more than twice as far away, at the same rupees. Zones are bands on a chart. We cannot discount one because the map looks short, and we will not pretend to.
Where the short haul does show up is in transit. The road tier reaches Bhiwandi in 5–6 days against 3–4 days in the air on Standard — about two days between them, where the same two tiers can sit a week apart on eastern lanes. That narrow gap is what makes this the one lane in the group where road freight is the sensible default rather than the compromise.
The arithmetic backs it up above the road tier’s three-kilogram billing floor. ₹484 against ₹830 at 3 kg. ₹807 against ₹1,383 at 5 kg. ₹1,614 against ₹2,593 at 10 kg. For anything going to a godown or a stockroom rather than a person, paying roughly a third less and waiting two extra days is an easy call.
The exception is small parcels. That ₹484 floor applies whatever the box weighs, so a one-kilogram consignment costs ₹484 by road and ₹415 in the air, and gets there sooner. Under three kilograms, always fly it. Premium is ₹813 for a three-day commitment against Standard’s three to four, and its column stops at the 25 kg slab. On a lane this quick it is seldom the right spend. Note too that Thane and Mumbai carry their own rows on the sheet, so an address on that side of the creek may price differently — send the pincode.
The 421302–421311 band prices from one flat card. Thane and Mumbai carry rows of their own, so do not assume this figure travels across the creek with you.

Because DTDC prices by zone, not by kilometre, and Bhiwandi sits in Z4. The distance shows up in the transit time instead — road takes five to six days here rather than seven or eight.
Above three kilograms, usually yes. The saving is about a third and the delay is only a couple of days, which is the best trade on this card.
Fly it. The road column has a three-kilogram floor, so a light parcel costs ₹484 there against ₹415 by air.
The ordinary document column, ₹242 for half a kilo — below the ₹415 a one-kilogram Standard parcel costs, so paper is cheapest sent as paper. Express documents are ₹496 when a date is fixed.
We book to all of them, but they sit on their own rows rather than the state card. Give us the pincode and we will quote the right line.
It is the Maharashtra zone rate. There is no Bhiwandi-specific entry on the sheet we hold, and we would rather say so.
None. We come to you across Bangalore, at any weight, at no cost.
Weight, dimensions and delivery pincode. We will tell you whether it belongs in the air or on the road, then collect it free.
