Buxar sits at the western edge of Bihar where the state meets Uttar Pradesh, and it prices on the Bihar Z4 card over the DNB service. Air moves in 2–3 days. Road takes 7–8, but it is where the heavy consignments belong — a 50 kg load is ₹8,072 that way against ₹12,962 by air.
These are DTDC's Bihar rates as they apply to Buxar. The two columns are five days apart in transit, so compare the delivery promise first and the rupees second.

These are the DTDC rates for Bihar (zone Z4) — the same card applies across the state. Billed weight is the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ 5000). Surface and heavier air slabs carry a 3 kg minimum. Full rate card and how billing works →
Most of what we book to Buxar is not urgent, and that changes the advice on this page. The heavy slabs are where this lane is genuinely interesting: 25 kg costs ₹4,036 by road against ₹6,481 on Standard, and 50 kg costs ₹8,072 against ₹12,962. That second comparison is a saving of ₹4,890 on a single consignment, which is more than most people spend on this route in a year. What it costs you is seven to eight days instead of two to three.
Middle weights split more evenly. At 10 kg you are looking at ₹1,614 by road and ₹2,593 by air — worth thinking about, not obviously right. At 5 kg the gap narrows to ₹807 against ₹1,383. And below three kilos the road option collapses entirely, because it charges a three-kilo minimum: ₹484 for one kilo when the air tier does it for ₹415.
The air side has its own limit. Premium is ₹813 for the first kilo with a two-day commitment, and the column simply ends at 25 kg — there is no published Premium price for a 50 kg air shipment on this card. If you need weight and speed together, call us and we will work it out per consignment rather than guess.
Paper is the one place this card is generous. Bihar carries an ordinary document scale from ₹242 at half a kilo as well as the express one at ₹496, and the ordinary rows ride the same two-to-three-day booking as a Standard parcel. Only once the file passes three kilograms is it worth pricing as a parcel instead — ₹830 there against ₹1,106 on the document scale.
The 802 block covers the town and the surrounding blocks. Addresses over the border in eastern Uttar Pradesh price differently — send the pincode and we will check which card applies.

Road freight at ₹8,072, against ₹12,962 on the air tier. It adds five days or so to the transit.
Two to three working days on the Standard air tier; the Premium commitment is two days.
Standard shows ₹12,962. The Premium column ends at 25 kg on this card, so heavy express bookings are quoted case by case.
The road tier bills a three-kilo minimum. One kilo is charged as three, giving ₹484 — dearer than the ₹415 air rate and five days slower.
