Kolhapur has no line of its own on our rate card. It prices off the Maharashtra zone rate, Z4 on service DNB, exactly as Pune or Solapur would, and Standard is scheduled at 3–4 days with road at 5–6. We would rather say that plainly than dress a state rate up as a local one.
These are DTDC's Maharashtra rates in the Z4 band. The same figures apply at Solapur, Aurangabad or Panvel — it is a state zone rate rather than a Kolhapur quotation, and we pass it through untouched.

These are the DTDC rates for Maharashtra (zone Z4) — the same card applies across the state. Billed weight is the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ 5000). Surface and heavier air slabs carry a 3 kg minimum. Full rate card and how billing works →
Of the Maharashtra destinations we book, Kolhapur is among the closest to Bangalore — roughly 700 km — but distance does not buy you a discount. DTDC prices the whole state in Z4, so a parcel to Kolhapur and a parcel to Nagpur read off the same rows. What Kolhapur does get is a reasonable road schedule: 5–6 days on Surface where the northern Z4 states sit at six, seven or eight.
Air is 3–4 days on Standard at ₹415 for the first kilo. Surface asks ₹484 for that same kilo and will keep asking ₹484 up to 3 kg, which is the minimum it bills. So on light shipments the road option is both slower and dearer, and there is no argument for it.
Past 3 kg it becomes the sensible default on this lane. You pay ₹484 against ₹830, then ₹1,614 against ₹2,593 at 10 kg, ₹4,036 against ₹6,481 at 25 kg. Two extra days for roughly a third of the price is a trade most people take once it is put to them that way — and with only two days between the tiers, it rarely breaks a delivery promise.
Two things about this card are worth flagging before you plan around it. The Premium parcel scale stops at 25 kg; heavier air consignments are quoted per shipment, so call rather than assume. And documents run on two scales, ₹242 for 500 g on Standard against ₹496 on Premium. Given how little Premium buys on a 3–4 day lane, files go on the Standard document row here, which is also under the ₹415 a 1 kg Standard parcel would cost.
Kolhapur city runs through the 4160xx series, and the surrounding towns price off the same state band.

Same Maharashtra card
No. It is the Maharashtra state zone rate in the Z4 band, and it reads identically for Solapur, Aurangabad or Bhiwandi. We label it honestly rather than imply a local deal.
Three to four days by air on Standard, three on Premium, five to six by road on Surface.
Because DTDC zones by state, not by kilometre. The whole of Maharashtra sits in Z4 on this card.
No. Surface bills a 3 kg minimum, so 2 kg costs ₹484 against ₹415 by air, and takes two days longer.
The Premium scale on this card ends at 25 kg. Above that we quote the consignment individually — tell us the weight and box sizes.
On the Standard scale, yes: a 500 g file is ₹242 as a document against ₹415 for a 1 kg Standard parcel. The Premium document row is ₹496 for the same envelope.
Yes, and there is no charge for it regardless of the weight.
Call with a weight and we will read both columns off the Maharashtra card. Pickup in Bangalore costs nothing.
