Patiala is billed from DTDC’s Punjab card — zone Z4, service DNB — and not from a rate written for the town. That is worth saying out loud, because a great many courier pages describe a state card as though it were a local negotiation. The figure is the one you will be charged either way.
What stands out on this lane is the distance between the two tiers. Standard puts a parcel into Patiala in 2–3 days for ₹415 the first kilogram. The road tier costs ₹484 and takes 6–7 days. Four days apart, and the slower one is the dearer one at low weight, because road billing does not begin until three kilograms. Anything small should go in the air without further thought.
